Beverly 1975 has been classified as a high-low store. High because they carry Christofle and are covered by highbrow publications. Low because they keep the prices low and carry bright plastic colander baskets that are often found across Allen St. The owner, Beverly Nguyen, worked for Kate Young and happens to be the Livings Editor at Family Style. She arranges editorial shoots reminiscent of old Williams-Sonoma holiday catalogs for a lot of the products.
It came up around the same time as cabagges and The Bear, where Ayo Edebiri's Sydney is gifted Thom Browne chef whites and drinks out of deli containers. Though the permanent store on Orchard Street didn't open until 2023, it's been around since April 2021, first as pop-ups in a former Chinese temple, Rockefeller Center, and Nordstrom.
